Douglas Cox – Founder, Chairman and VP of Engineering
Douglas Cox founded MSI in 1997, and has since served as Chairman and VP of Engineering. Prior to MSI, from 1988 to 1997, Mr. Cox successfully ran an IC design consulting business. Before this, Mr. Cox held a variety of engineering positions at Hughes Aircraft, EG&G Reticon and VLSI Design Associates (now IDT), specializing in the design and development of analog and mixed signal ICs. Mr. Cox was also the founder of Lode Systems, a chip tester company acquired by EPRO, which later merged with Credence Systems. Mr. Cox holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Levent Ozcolak – President
Levent Ozcolak joined MSI in 2013 as President. Prior to MSI, from 2004 to 2013, Mr. Ozcolak was VP, Connectivity (Interface) Products at Exar Corporation. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Ozcolak was Director of Marketing for Video & Imaging and Interface Products, and prior to this, from 1985 to 1999, Mr. Ozcolak held a variety of increasingly senior engineering positions at Exar, specializing in the design and development of analog, mixed signal and connectivity ICs. Mr. Ozcolak holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Phoenix.
John Ambrose – VP of Applications and System Engineering
John Ambrose joined MSI in 1997 as Applications/System Applications Manager and was promoted to his current VP position in 2008. Prior to MSI, from 1990 to 1997, Mr. Ambrose held a variety of increasingly senior applications engineering positions at Sierra Semiconductor. Prior to this, Mr. Ambrose held applications engineering positions at Exar Corporation and EG&G Reticon, specializing in communications, industrial and audio/video applications. Mr. Ambrose holds an Associates degree in Electronic Technology from Chabot College.
Jeff Thompson – Director of Marketing and Sales
Jeff Thompson joined MSI in 1997 as Director of Marketing and Sales. Prior to MSI, from 1982 to 1997, Mr. Thompson held a variety of product marketing, product engineering and reliability engineering positions with Exar Corporation, specializing in analog and mixed signal ICs. Prior to this, from 1978 to 1981, Mr. Thompson worked at Fairchild Semiconductor as an applications engineer. Mr. Thompson holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Buffalo.
