NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT

NEW FILTER IC OFFERS SIX FILTER RESPONSES AT 1.0 V

SAN JOSE, California, January 26---Engineers at Mixed Signal Integration have developed a new switched capacitor filter IC that operate at a single supply voltage as low as 1.0 V with a choice of six different filter responses. The Low Voltage Selectable Filter IC has seven pole Butterworth, Elliptic or Bessel low pass responses or six pole full octave, one third octave or one sixth octave bandpass responses.

The MSLFS operates at center frequencies up to 6 kHz while drawing typical supply currents of 500 uA. In power down mode, only 50 uA is needed. The MSLFS has an externally selectable gain setting pin, power down function and a clock to corner ratio select. The gain can be 0, 6 or 12 dB. The clock to corner ratio can be either 85.3:1 or 42.6:1. Also, an op amp provides additional gain for a microphone application.

The device uses a switched capacitor filter design that reduces the need for external components. Only decoupling capacitors and an external clock are required. The MSLFS takes a single supply from 1.0 V to 3.6 V.
The MSLFS is available in a 16 pin plastic DIP or SOIC package for $5.95 in 1000 piece quantities.
