NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT
Use RF to Power Your
System
SAN JOSE, California, 2006------
Mixed Signal Integration today announced a RF Interface Front-End
integrated circuit. The MSRFIF is a transceiver that does not need a
power supply or a battery to operate. In a typical system, the part is
powered by RF energy from a RF transmitter. The MSRFIF will operate at
received frequencies from 50 Hz up to 7 MHz. It will operate at data
rates of 5 kbps up and 120 kbps down.
The MSRFIF includes the ASK/PSK
demodulation and ASK modulation circuitry, a charge pump, RSSI
function, a power down function, duplexer and a voltage output for
powering a microcontroller, preamp and other system functions (< 50
uA ). The received signal strength detector keeps the logic off until a
strong signal is received. The power down function provides a trigger
only when RSSI is activated. There are 3 selectable modulation depths.
The MSRFIF can be applied in a range of RFID systems. These include remote medical sensing, theft detection, security systems, inventory control, access cards, automotive key identification, pet identification, mobile commerce, airline baggage identification and as a sensor transceiver.
The MSRFIF is available in an 8 pin plastic SOIC package in 1Kpcs at $ 0.95 each or in die form at volume quantities for $ 0.40.
